Olympic lifting at Hadeed

Olympic lifting builds speed, explosive power and mobility together. We teach it in stages — bar positions, then the pull, then the catch, then the full lift — and film your lifts on a phone to review them with you.

Every lifter gets a full platform during the session, with bumper plates that let you drop the bar safely.

What you’ll work on

  • Snatch and clean-and-jerk technique, step by step
  • Speed and explosive power
  • Shoulder, hip and ankle mobility
  • Video review of your lifts
  • Preparing for local competitions, if you want to

This list is illustrative; your coach sets your plan after the first assessment.

Is Olympic lifting dangerous?

It becomes safe with gradual progress and clean technique. We start with a wooden dowel or a light bar and only add load once you master the positions.

Do I need special shoes?

Lifting shoes with a firm heel help later, but you can start in any flat trainers.

What age can I start?

We take teenagers from 14 with a coach, and there is no upper age limit as long as the movement is comfortable.
